Doris W. Oliver, 94, of Oneonta, NY, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 4, 2017.

Born and raised in Milford, NY, Doris was a graduate of Milford High School.

She was married to Leland Arthur Oliver, who passed away on November 10, 2011, for 70 years.

She was a devoted wife and mother of three sons. She loved her family, friends, and church.  Doris moved to Patterson, CA, in 2015 and lived the remaining 2-1/2 years of her life with her youngest son, Michael Oliver and his wife, Mary Jane and family who cared for her.  Doris worked for Bendix Corporation for over 25 years, the Oneonta School District for over 12 years, and then retired.

She was preceded in her death by her husband, Leland Arthur Oliver; her oldest son, Stephen Walter Oliver, her second oldest son, Thomas Lee Oliver; her great grandson, Aaron Michael Oliver; sisters, Dorothy Carley, her husband, Paul, Myrtle Mohney, her husband Tom, and Marie Nearing.

Survivors include her youngest son, Michael W Oliver, daughter-in-law, Mary Jane Oliver, grandson, Matthew Joseph Oliver, his wife, Mary Cris Oliver, great grandson, Alexander Daniel Oliver, all of Patterson, CA; daughter-in-law, Nancy Oliver of Seymour, TN; grandson, Stephen W Oliver Jr, wife Gina, great grandson, Samuel of Arlington, VA; grandson, David Timothy Oliver of Albany, NY, daughter-in-law Joan Oliver of Watkins Glenn, NY, grandson, Jeffrey Oliver of Elmira, NY, granddaughter, Bethany Spaulding, husband, Ernie of Corning, NY, granddaughter, Christy Oliver of Buffalo, NY; her brother, Hilton Wood, wife Ann, nephew Craig all of Milford, NY; niece, Bonnie Kress, husband Gunner and other relatives.

The family would like to thank all the nurses and aids of Optimal Hospice, Modesto, CA for their wonderful care they provided to Doris and the family the last few months of her life.

The Funeral will be 12:00 PM,Thursday, November 30 at the Lewis, Hurley & Pietrobono Funeral Home, 51 Dietz Street, Oneonta, NY.  Calling hours will be from 11:00 AM to 12:00 noon.

Burial will be at the Oneonta Plains Cemetery on Oneida Street immediately following the funeral service.
