Dorothy D. Heitz's Obituary
Dorothy D. Heitz, 99, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 13, 2016 at A.O. Fox Nursing Home, Oneonta.
She was born in Palisades Park, New Jersey, the daughter of Robert and Sarah Frances (Fox) Dougherty.
She married John R. Heitz in April of 1934. John and Dorothy built their home at the New Jersey Shore; a place they very much enjoyed being.
Mrs. Heitz was a devoted and active member of the Catholic Church. She loved every aspect of the Catholic Church.
During World War II she became a practical nurse working at Holy Name Hospital in Teaneck, New Jersey.
She is predeceased by her husband, John in 1991; two sisters, and five brothers.
She is survived by her daughter, Margaret and Ronald Marsh of Laurens, New York; four grandchildren, Maureen, Jacqueline, Caroline, and Steven; 10 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
There will be no calling hours.
The funeral mass will be 10:15 a.m.. Friday, March 18, 2016 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 39 Walnut St., Oneonta, New York with the Rev. David Mickiewicz as celebrant.
Interment will be Monday morning, March 21, 2016 at St. Mary's Cemetery, 1056 Seashore Road, Cape May, New Jersey.
