Obituary

SCHENEVUS - Dorothy "Dot" Parmerter, 69, passed away Wednesday, June 13, 2012, at Bassett Hospital in Cooperstown, after a long struggle with cancer and with her family at her side.

The daughter of Frank and Mary (Mudrick) Noger, and the last of nine children, Dorothy was born August 12, 1942 in Goshen, NY. Dorothy graduated from high school in Florida, NY, then worked at the Kassel Brothers store in Middletown, NY before marrying Robert Parmerter on July 18, 1964. They moved to and have since lived in Schenevus. She was a former bookkeeper and faculty secretary at Hartwick College in Oneonta for many years.

Dorothy had a lifetime love of gardening, listening to and reading about Elvis Presley, and tending to the birds that annually flocked to her backyard birdfeeders. She was the President of the St. Joseph Parish Council in Worcester, served on the Schenevus Village Board, was President of the Schenevus Women's Club, and worked tirelessly as the Town of Maryland Historian. Dorothy enjoyed annual get togethers with her numerous brothers and sisters, loved spending time with her grandchildren, and looked forward to annual vacations in Tennessee.

Dorothy is survived by her husband, Robert Parmerter of Schenevus; two sons, Mark Parmerter and his wife, Leslie (Bartoo) of Oneonta, and Brad Parmerter and his wife, Dawn (Anderson) of Albany; her grandchildren, Naomi, Logan, Emma, and Alex; her brother, Frank Noger and his wife Lorraine of Middletown, NJ; her sister, Veronica Noger, of Warwick; her sister, Florence Walsh, of Parker, CO; sister-in-law, Florence Noger, of Upper Saddle River, NJ; sister-in-law Genevieve Noger, of Warwick; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Dorothy is now reunited with her mother Mary, father Frank, brothers Raymond, Arthur, Edmund, Richard, and sister Frances.

She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
