ONEONTA - Dorothy M. Preston, 87, of Oneonta, NY, died peacefully with family at her side, on Friday June 17, 2016 at A.O. Fox Nursing Home.

Dorothy was born on March 11, 1929 in South Valley, NY the daughter of the late Spencer and Marcia Yager Brown. On September 21, 1947 she married Robert F. Preston in South Valley. Robert and Dorothy worked on the family farm in Decatur for many years. She was a talented cross stitcher, and enjoyed working on numerous crafts.

Dorothy is survived by her children Carol Mabie of South Valley, Marion (Leslie) Michel of Oneonta, Connie (Thomas) George of Oneonta, Brenda (Jeffrey) Fuller of Worcester, Robert (Martha) Preston of Decatur, 7 grandchildren, and 17
great-grandchildren, with 2 great-grandchildren on the way. She is also survived by her sister, Marge (Al) Moxham of Fonda, her aunt, Lucy Proper of South Valley and many nieces and nephews.

Dorothy was predeceased by her husband Robert on September 11, 1967,
her brother Spencer, her sister Elizabeth, 2 grandchildren and a close friend, James Forman.

Memorial services will be held at a future date to be announced in the Daily Star. There will be no calling hours.
