Oneonta, NY – Dorothy L. VanLoan, 78, passed away at her home on September 9, 2021.

Dorothy was born on December 24, 1942, in Hancock, NY, the only child of Jessie VanLoan and James VanLoan.

Dorothy had a wonderful sense of humor and a beautiful smile.  She thoroughly enjoyed coffee with friends and being surrounded by the music she loved.

Dorothy was predeceased by her parents  She is survived by her extended family including her housemates at Jefferson Avenue IRA, all of her friends at The Arc Otsego, her devoted caregivers, and members of NYSARC, Inc.'s Otsego County Guardianship Committee who supported and advocated for Dorothy for many years.

Dorothy's smile, expressive communication and laugh will be missed by all who knew, loved, and cared for her.

Burial will be Thursday September 16, 2021, at 12:00 pm at the Riverview Cemetery, Old State Road, Hancock NY.
