WORCESTER – Edna B. Mattice, 95, passed away Monday, July 26, 2010 at the A.O. Fox Nursing Home in Oneonta.
She was born December 9, 1914 in Worcester, the daughter of Peter and Anna (Mann) Ritton.
Edna married William S. Mattice on March 7, 1938 in Worcester. He predeceased her on December 25, 1993.
She loved taking care of her family, her home and her beloved cats. Edna was a member of the 2nd Baptist Church in Worcester, and especially enjoyed her church and church friends. She enjoyed crocheting, cooking and canning vegetables from Bill's garden. Edna was an avid train enthusiast from a young age, as her father was a railroad employee. She also enjoyed playing her keyboard and was a camera buff.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Charles Davis of Castletown; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Ella.
She was predeceased by her sister, Doris and husband, Merton Norton.
The funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Thursday, July 29, 2010 at the E.J. Skinner Funeral Chapel in Worcester, with the Reverend Judith A. Thistle, pastor of the 2nd Baptist Church, officiating.
Interment will be at the East Worcester Cemetery.
There will be no calling hours.
