Edward Brodzinsky
Ed died unexpectedly at New York Presbyterian Hospital with his wife, Mary and daughters, Laura, Johanna and Sara at his side.
He is also survived by his grandchildren, Veronica, Sam and mica and his brother, Malcolm, as well as much loved members of his extended family.
He had a full life. A graduate of Pratt Institute, as a registered architect he designed many buildings in and around Gloucester, MA. He worked as an architect for 3 years in the greater London area.
He and his wife moved to Otsego County (Elk Creek) in 1988 where he began an active business as an antiquarian book dealer. After retiring as a book dealer he continued his connection with the world of antiquarian books by organizing the annual Cooperstown Antiquarian Book Fair.
In Gloucester he was an active member of Temple Avahath Achim and was president of B'nai Brith.
He loved all the arts especially music, painting and photography. He was an award winning photographer and his photos were used in books and magazines internationally. He was also a water colorist with work selected for juried shows
Always a lover of classical music he became enamored of opera through the Glimmerglass Festival attending many performances each season. Active in the Opera Guild he served as president for two years.
A memorial service in his memory will be held at a later date.
