ONEONTA – Elizabeth W. Hilts, 89, passed away Friday, May 6, 2011 at A.O. Fox Hospital in Oneonta.

She was born December 31, 1921 in Garrettsville, the daughter of Lester G. and Myrtle (Peck) Wilson.

She graduated from Morris Central School, Class of 1939 and The State University of New York College of Agriculture and Technology at Cobleskill with a degree in Home Economics.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Oneonta, and a past member and past president of the Oneonta Garden Club.

She is survived by her children, James H. and Deb Hilts of Oneonta and Kathy E. Hilts and John Spence of Oneonta; two grandsons, Jeremy J. and Cale J. Hilts; a step granddaughter, Tricia Jubinville; a great-grandson, Brayden Hilts; several nephews and a niece; special friends, Janet Anderson, Joan Martini and Doris Beckley.

She was predeceased by her parents; a son, Larry M. Hilts; a brother, Robert L. Wilson; and Harold J. Hilts.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 11, 2011 11a.m. at the First Baptist Church, Chestnut St., Oneonta, with the Rev. Randolph Palada, pastor, officiating.

Interment will follow at the Oneonta Plains Cemetery.
