Oneonta - On December 18, 2008 Ellen Keaveney went to be with her creator. For the past two and a half years, Ellen resided at the Fox Nursing Home where she was cared for by a loving staff.
"Aunt Nell" as she was known by her family and friends, was born January 14, 1905, County Mayo, Ireland.
She was predeceased by her parents, her brother, John, sister, Mary and niece Marcella.
Unmarried she leaves behind one niece, three nephews, as well as many other family members and friends who remember her stories of Ireland.
She retired from the Commodore Hotel in New York City and was extremely proud of her work with the War Department during World War II.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 a.m., Monday, December 22, 2008 at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Oneonta with the Rev. Joseph Benintende as celebrant.
Burial will take place at Mt. Calvary Cemetery later in the spring.
