Oneonta – Ellen K. Montgomery, 69, passed away August 20, 2014 at Bassett Healthcare in Cooperstown.

She was born September 16, 1944 in Oneonta, the daughter of Frank and Julia (Galco) Harkenreader.

Ellen's pride and joy were her children and grandchildren. She love angel's; was very religious and prayed everyday. She was a kind and generous person.

She worked for many years at SUCO Children's Center in Oneonta.

She is survived by her children, Victoria Harkenreader of Walton, Joseph and Jennifer Harkenreader of Oneonta, Christopher and Gina Montgomery of Oneonta, and Kimberly Curtis and Vernon Overstone of Oneonta; grandchildren, Taylor, Caden, Tristan, Kayla, Aiyana, Anthony, Jaiden, Teaghan, and Arianna; siblings, Frank and Joyce Harkenreader of Mt. Vision, Gerald Harkenreader of West Oneonta, Ann Baird of Oneonta,
Barbara VanDuesen of Utica, Ed and Jean Bordinger of Oneonta, William and Barbara Harkenreader of Laurens, and Patty Jarmarowicz of Texas; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents and brothers, Stanley, Edward and Lawrence Harkenreader.

There will be no calling hours.

A graveside service will be 11am Wednesday August 27 at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Emmons, with the Rev. David Mickiewicz, officiating.
