Laurens – Emery J. McBride, 66, passed away unexpectedly on December 6, 2022.

He was born February 17, 1956 in Baltimore, MD, the son of Mary McBride and Gene Shenhalls.

Emery grew up in West Virginia and was raised on his grandparent's farm.   He loved his family and his animals, as they loved him as much.  He enjoyed fishing, was fond of muscle cars, and enjoyed woodworking and tinkering in the shop.   He was always willing to help others and would give his shirt off his back.

Emery married Barbara Pirozzi on September 9, 1983 in Long Island.  They moved to the area in 1985.

He worked for Lutz Feed in Oneonta for 12 years.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara McBride; children, Tara (Robert) Austin, Jason (Erin) McBride and Courtney (Jonathan) Lorette; grandchildren, Michael Scott, Skylar McBride, Owen McBride, and Markus Lorette; his mother, Mary Mack; a nephew, Justin Iannello and several other family members.

Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. with a time to share a story or remembrance starting at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, January 27, 2023 at the Lewis, Hurley & Pietrobono Funeral Home, 51 Dietz St., Oneonta.
