SCHENEVUS – Ernest Blanchard, Jr., 51, passed away September 12, 2013 at Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstown, after battling cancer for nine years.
He was born October 26, 1961 in Decatur, the son of Ernest and Mary Ann(Wilcox) Blanchard.
Ernie graduated from Worcester Central School, Class of 1980.
He was a 13 year United States Navy veteran. He was deployed to the Desert Storm and the Lebanon conflicts and served aboard the USS Nimitz and the
USS Connole.
Ernie married Misty Roberts on March 9, 1985 in Marshfield, Maine.
Ernie was a HVAC Technician for both, Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstown and currently Amphenol in Sidney. He was member of the C.H. Graham Hose Co. in Schenevus. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Bud also enjoyed
picking on his family, especially his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Misty Blanchard of Schenevus; children,
Christopher Beal (Shelly) of Brunswick, Maine, Ernest Blanchard III (Mylea)
of Schenevus, and Keith Blanchard of Buffalo; grandchildren, Andrew,
Samuel, Madison and Emma; his mother, Mary Ann Eherrman (Richard) of
Obenburg; brother, Bob Blanchard (Cindy); sisters, Bridgette West (Rick)
and Bonnie Abbott (Larry); sisters-in-law, Christy Canane and Dorothy
Riley (Vinnie); a mother-in-law, Sheila Roberts; and many nieces, nephews
aunts, uncles and cousins, and special friends Myron and Kathleen Stevens.
He was predeceased by his father, two brothers and a sister.
Calling hours will be 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, September 17, at the E.J.
Skinner Co. Funeral Chapel in Worcester.
A memorial service will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, September 18, at the funeral
home, with the Rev. Judith A. Thistle, officiating.
Interment with military honors will follow at the Maple Grove Cemetery,
Worcester.
