CHARLOTTEVILLE – Evelyn Ruth (Hitchcock) Rifenbark, 81, loving mother and grandmother, passed away Thursday, May 03, 2007 at A.O. Fox Memorial Hospital in Oneonta.

She was born November 28, 1925 in South Gilboa, the daughter of William and Bessie (Barnes) Hitchcock.

Evelyn was a member of the First Summit Baptist Church in Charlotteville. She was retired from the Story House Corp of Charlotteville after 35 years of employment.

She is survived by her four children, Beverly and her husband, Frank Wicker of Asheboro, NC, Ellen Grotevant of Charlotteville, Carole and her husband, Otto Hossbach of Bloomville and Christopher and his wife, Carol Rifenbark of South Worcester; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her three brothers, Leo, Fred and Charles Hitchcock and a sister, Mary (Elsie) Mills.

Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, May 6, 2007 at the E.J. Skinner Co. Funeral Chapel in Worcester.

The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday, May 7, 2007 at the First Summit Baptist Church, Charlotteville, with the Rev. Grant L. Smith officiating.

Interment will follow at the Charlotteville Cemetery.
