ONEONTA – Miss Frances Marie Brienza, 76, died Thursday, September 18, 2008 at Wilson Memorial Hospital in Johnson City.
She was born on Park Avenue, Oneonta on January 22, 1932, the daughter of Frank and Jennie M. (De Ambrosini) Brienza.
Miss Brienza has been a life resident of Oneonta. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.
In later years she worked for Homer Folks T.B. Hospital, Robynwood Nursing Home and retired from A.O. Fox Memorial Hospital.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews; friends, Mary LeoGrande, Raffaela Chicorelli, Annette Foster and Rosemary Holbrook.
She was predeceased by her brothers, John F. Brienza, who was killed in World War II and Paul Brienza; her sisters, Lucille Wehmeyer, Bella Tessatore and Virginia Alger.
At the request of Miss Brienza there will be no calling hours.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Monday, September 22, 2008 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Oneonta, with the Reverend Joseph Benintende, as celebrant.
Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Emmons.
