MARYLAND – Francis Oren Tubbs, 87, passed away peacefully on May 15, 2013 at the Otsego Manor.
He was born February 18, 1926 in Cooperstown, the son of Arlington and Elsie (Bowker) Tubbs.
Francis worked for Ken Nydam installing farm equipment for most of his adult life. He was an avid farmer and hunter. He enjoyed being on the ham radio and was a member of the CB Club. Francis was an easy going person who loved spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his two daughters, Dawn and Randy Williams of Oneonta and Christine Alexander of Virginia; grandchildren, Heather Currie and husband, Jody, Crystal Williams and her fiancé, Joel Griffith, Rebecca Carr-Wisner and husband, Gordon, Dustin Williams, Courtney and Sydney Alexander; 1 great-granddaughter, Ryleigh Currie; special friends, Diane Hall and Lewellyn Osborne; the mother of his daughters, Mary Ellen Sprague; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by his wife, Marie Tubbs and brothers, Ralph and Kenneth Tubbs.
Calling hours will be 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, May 19, 2013 at the Heller Funeral Home, Schenevus.
The funeral service will be 3 p.m. Monday, May 20, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Judith A. Thistle, officiating.
Interment will follow at the Maryland Cemetery.
