DAVENPORT – Frank William Davis, 86, passed away Wednesday, June 11, 2008 at his home at the Oneonta Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, where he resided for 19 years.
He was born January 19, 1922 in Colliersville, the son of William and Fannie (O'Dell) Davis.
Frank married Eunice Sitts, who predeceased him on January 1, 1987.
He had been employed as a mechanic at many Oneonta area automobile dealerships.
Frank was an avid outdoorsman, and was passionate about cars, airplanes and the New York Yankees.
He is survived by his two daughters, Frankie Davis of Oneonta, and Leila and Philip Durkin of Cherry Valley; a son, Thomas and Dawn Davis of Laurens; two sisters, Leila Bassani of Davenport and Marjorie Clute of Georgia; two brothers, Arthur and Virginia Davis of Binghamton and Jim and Barb Davis of Oneonta; grandchildren, Richard and Kelly Tavarone, Pete and Kacy Tavarone and Walter and Nancy Kuhn;
great-grandchildren, Cameron, Tucker, Connor, Emma and Kyler; as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a brother, Richard Davis.
The funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, June 16, 2008 at the Lewis, Hurley & Pietrobono Funeral Home, Oneonta, with the Rev. Edward Golding, pastor of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Worcester, officiating. There will be calling hours from 6 to 7 p.m. Monday evening.
The interment will be Tuesday, June 17, 2008 at the Maryland Cemetery.
