Oneonta – Frederick W. Doltz, 83, passed away on September 18, 2026, at Robinson Terrace Nursing Center in Stamford. 

He was born June 19, 1943, in New York City, the son of Frederick and Leslie (Smith) Doltz.

He graduated from Delaware Academy in Delhi and the NYS Police Academy. 

On June 21, 1967, he married Lorraine Reer in Meredith. 

Fred served as a NYS Trooper from 1967 until his retirement in 1989. He was a member of the PBA and the Loyal Order of The Pines in Oneonta, where he and his family shared some of the best times of their lives alongside many dear and wonderful friends. 

He is survived by his wife, Lorraine Doltz; his daughter, Amy (Philip) Baum; his son, Frederick (Stacey) Doltz; his grandchildren, Ryan, Tyler, and Alexis Hasbrouck, Madison and Emily Baum, and Lilyan and Frederick Doltz; his brother, Eric Doltz; his sister, Sabrina "Robin" Brown; and several nieces and nephews. 

A time for visitation will be 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., with the funeral service  2 p.m. on October 1, 2026 at the Lewis, Hurley & Pietrobono Funeral Home, 51 Dietz St., Oneonta, with the Rev. Paul Messner officiating. Interment will follow at Oneonta Plains Cemetery.
