Obituary

RICHMONDVILLE – Gene D. Comino, 70, passed away October 3, 2020 at Bassett Medical Center, Cooperstown.

He was born January 22, 1950 in Cobleskill, the son of Peter and Laura Mae (Werhmeister) Comino.

Gene graduated from Andrew S. Draper Central School in Schenevus.  He was a United States Army veteran, serving from 1969 to 1975.

He employed by Green Island Construction Co and also Operating Engineers Local 106 working for Lancaster Construction in Cobleskill as a heavy equipment operator.

Gene was a member of the Worcester Fish & Game Club, and the Cobleskill Eagles Club.  He loved his Harley and enjoyed every opportunity he had to ride it.

He is survived by his daughter, Melissa Knapp; step children, Christina (Mike) Becker and Robert (Kim) Dibble; 5 grandchildren; siblings, Peter Comino, Joey Comino, Susie Barnes; step brother, Bruce Eichler; many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents; step mother, Shirley Comino and sister, Iva Miller.

A graveside service with military honors will be held 1 p.m.  Saturday October 10 at the Maryland Cemetery.  Please wear a face covering, maintain social distancing and bring a chair if needed.
