SCHENEVUS – George S. Graves III, 66, passed away January 26, 2014 unexpectedly at home.
He was born September 26, 1948 in Cooperstown, the son of George S. Graves Jr. and Ruth Ann (Richter) Graves.
George moved from Westford when he was a young child to Schenevus, where he remained. He graduated from Schenevus Central School and SUNY Alfred College of Technology for Auto Body/Painting.
George retired in 2013 from Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals. He had other jobs throughout his life, including being owner and operator of Auto Body Repair/Towing in Schenevus. He had a strong love of cars, tractors and truck, which he surrounded himself with.
He was a member of the Rod & Gun Club and Tired Iron of Butternut Valley.
He is survived by his long time close friend, Denise Perry; nieces and nephews, Douglas (Cherrie) Gulotty of Schenevus, Mark (Loretta) Jahnke of Milford, Janet Strong of Schenevus, Laurine Rausch of Ocoee, FL, Christine Piner of Pace, FL, Dorrine Kilmer of Loganton, PA, Gregory Kilmer of Miami, FL, and Gary Kilmer of Cary, NC.
He was predeceased by his sisters, Ruth Ann (Graves) Kilmer and Norma (Graves) Carman.
Calling hours will be 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. with a celebration of life service at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 14, 2015 at the Heller & Skinner Funeral Home, 155 Main St., Worcester, with the Rev. Paul Messner, officiating.
