George B. Leonardo, 60, passed away Sunday, December 30, 2012 at his residence.
He was born on September 18, 1952 in Kingston, the son of Albert and Betty (Gulnick) Leonardo Sr.
George married Marie Ward on January 24, 1988 in Maryland.
He was employed at the Schenevus Central School for many years.
He was a past member of the CH Graham Hose Co. and the Schenevus-Maryland Emergency Squad.
George is survived by his wife, Marie Leonardo of Maryland; a daughter, Victoria Leonardo and her husband, Jared of Maryland; 2 sons, Anthony and Salvatore Leonardo both of Maryland; 2 brothers, Albert (Linda) Leonardo Jr. of Florida and Robert (Winifred) Leonardo of Kingston; 2 sisters, Gertrude (Gary) Tomczyk Sr. of Kingston and Denise Tomczyk of Binghamton; a brother-in-law, Larry (Fran) Ward of Maryland and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by his parents and a brother, Kirk Leonardo.
Calling hours will be held Friday, January 4, 2013 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Heller Funeral Home, 25 Arch Street in Schenevus. A funeral service will follow at 6:00 p.m. with the Rev. Ronald Green, MM officiating.
Contributions may be made in loving memory of George to the Catskill Area Hospice and Palliative Care, 1 Birchwood Ave., Oneonta, NY 13820.
