MT. VISION – Gerald "Jerry" Allen Wikoff, 72, passed away peacefully at his residence on March 14, 2017.
He was born March 3, 1945 in Oneonta, the son of Leo and Marjorie (Pitts) Wikoff.
Jerry grew up in Laurens and attended Laurens Central School. After high school, he worked for Aspen Tree Company and also Landscape Forester.
Jerry married Rose Marie Tice on April 9, 1967 at the Baptist Church in Hartwick.
Jerry had an unconditional love for his children and grandchildren. They were his world, and the world is better for having him in it. He was so dearly loved and will be truly missed.
He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Rose Marie Wikoff of Mt. Vision; his daughter, Barbara and husband, Bruce Benenati of Rome, NY; his son, Gerald "Jake" and wife, Angela Wikoff of Milford; his grandchildren, Britanni Benenati, Brandon Benenati and fiancée, Kira Stone, and Isaac Wikoff; his great-grandchildren, Jaiden Benenati and Jayceonia Martineau; his brothers and sisters, Robert and wife, Helen Wikoff of Oneonta, David Wikoff and partner, Jean Kosier of Davenport, Ronald Wikoff of Oneonta, Suzanne and husband, Michael Gregory of Mt. Vision, his twin, Joan and husband, Stewart Handy of Florida and William Dean and wife, Theresa Wikoff of the state of Washington; many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews; and a very special little friend, Zoey Segina.
He was predeceased by his parents; two sisters-in-law, Paula Wikoff and Judy Wikoff.
Calling hours will be 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. with the funeral service at 12 p.m., Monday, March 20, 2017 at the Lewis, Hurley & Pietrobono Funeral Home, 51 Dietz St., Oneonta. The Rev. Donna Martin, pastor at Elm Park Methodist Church will be officiating.
Following the service a reception will be held at the American Legion, 11 Main St., Laurens
Interment will be 2 p.m., Friday May 5th at the Mt. Vision Cemetery.
