HARTWICK – Gerald Armstrong, 85, passed away July 25, 2016 at Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstown.
He was born September 21, 1930 in Laurens the son of Ralph and Helen (Wolford) Armstrong.
Jerry is survived his beloved wife of 25 years, Maude Baldo of Hartwick.
He is also survived by his daughters, Nancy Jacques of Delhi and Amy and David Coviello of Rosendale; his grandsons, Scott and Jamie Smith of Delhi, Derek and Kim Smith of Delhi and Alexander Coviello of Rosendale; 3 great-granddaughters; son-in-law, Daniel Jacques; sister, Edith MacIntyre; brothers, Willard and Jan Armstrong, Charles Armstrong, and Raymond Armstrong; and many nieces and nephews.
Jerry is also survived by his step-children, Gail and Audie Yager of Oneonta, Deb and Greg Horth of Hartwick, Michael Angell of East Sindey; grandchildren, Corina and Brad Baldwin of Ranson, WV, Doug Yager of Oneonta, Jonathan and Elletta Horth of Hartwick, Josh and Cheryl Horth of Delanson, Jacob and Stephanie Horth of Hartwick, Nicholas Angell and Nichole Angell of Otego; and two great grandsons; and a sister-in-law, Elaine Nichols of Otego.
Jerry was predeceased by his parents; two daughters, Elizabeth and Deborah Armstrong; son-in-law, Larry Smith; brother-in-law, Carl MacIntyre and a step son, Bryan Angell.
Jerry enjoyed working in his flower beds. He took great pride in his home, and loved spending time with his family and friends.
The family would like to thank Hartwick Fire Department Company #1 Emergency Squad for the many times they were of assistance to Jerry and his family.
Calling hours will be 11 a.m. to Noon with the funeral service starting at Noon on Saturday, July 30, at the Lewis, Hurley & Pietrobono Funeral Home, 51 Dietz St., Oneonta, with the Rev. Lynn Shepard, officiating.
Interment will follow at the Oneonta Plains Cemetery.
