Gertrude J. Mastando, 72, passed away Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at the Cobleskill Regional Hospital in Cobleskill.
She was born on October 31, 1938 in the Bronx; the daughter of Arthur and Evelyn (Alpert) Dayton.
Gertrude married Albert Mastando in New Windsor. He predeceased her in December of 1994.
She worked as a CNA for Falkirk in Center Valley and has been a Charlotteville resident since 1983.
Gertrude is survived by her sons, Albert Mastando and his wife Angela of Charlotteville, David Nadeau and his wife Dawn of North Carolina and Robert Nadeau and his wife Ann of North Carolina; her grandchildren, Stephanie, Danielle, Madison, Victoria and Anthony; her brothers, Eugene Dayton, Nelson Dayton, Donald Dayton and Charles Mallery; her sisters, Elaine Grajewski and Muriel Morgan; her best friend Edie Christie and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her brother Richie Dayton.
A graveside service will be held 1:00 p.m., Monday, January 10, 2011 at the Charlotteville Cemetery with the Rev. Eugene Dayton officiating.
There will be no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in loving memory of Gertrude to the charity of one's choice.
