ONEONTA – Gertrude L. Merrill, 63, passed away Friday, January 26, 2007 at her home.

She was born May 29, 1943 in Schenectady, the daughter of Willard and Madline (Heiler) Fay.

Trudy married Keith Merrill on October 7, 1961 at the Richmondville Lutheran Church.

Trudy loved spending time with her grandchildren and also enjoyed doing crossword puzzles.

She is survived by her daughters, Tracey and Jon Coon of Worcester, Sally and George Jenkins of East Worcester, Tonia and Kevin Stone of Oneonta, and Heather and Richard Gavett of East Worcester; grandchildren, Ryan and Lorraine Coon, Ashley Jenkins, Rebecca and Danny Webster, Dannielle Ertz, Jessilyn Jenkins, Christopher Merrill, Elizabeth Jenkins, Damon Gavett and Brandon Gavett; a great-granddaughter, Janai Jenkins; two brothers, Lindsay Fay and his wife, Judy of Wilmington, NC and Howard Fay of Hollywood, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Keith; a sister, Rosemary Powell and two brothers, Bobby Fay and Billy Fay.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, June 2, 2007 at the Oneonta Plains Cemetery, with the Rev. Judith A. Thistle, officiating.
