WORCESTER – Harold J. Ridgeway, Sr., 91, passed away Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at his home with his granddaughter Ashley LaSalvia by his side.
He was born March 31, 1920 in Kent, the son of Schuyler and Anna (Baker) Ridgeway.
In 1964 Harold married Elvira Morelli, with this he became father to her daughters, Angela, Andrea, Theresa and Debra, whom he is survived by. He will be missed dearly by his son, Harold and Penny Ridgeway and their children, Monica Ridgeway and Harold Ridgeway III; and his daughter, Marie and Randy Fancher, and their sons, Nathan Fancher and Logan Fancher, all of Worcester. Memories of Pops will always be treasured by his grandchildren, Jamie, Benjamin, Katrina, Justin, Jessica, Melody, Brandon, Ashley. He is survived by his sister, Rita Corey of Moodus, CT; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by 4 brothers and 4 sisters.
Harold was dedicated to his grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them. He was an avid outdoorsman, loved to garden, pick berries, and also play cards. In his younger days, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and working with the animals on the family farm.
Calling hours will be 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, September 16th at the E.J. Skinner Co. Funeral Chapel in Worcester.
The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, September 17th at the funeral chapel, with the Rev. Keith VanDewerker, retired, officiating.
