Harold E. Ritchey, 80, passed away, Sunday, November 12, 2017 at Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstown.

He was born on January 6, 1937 in Bainbridge; the son of the late Joseph and Louise (Bostwick) Ritchey.

Harold worked for several lumber companies for over 20 years. His last employment was with Scoville-Meno Honda in Oneonta.

Harold served in the United States Army from 1955-1957.

He is survived by his companion Jane Shipman of Schenevus, his children, Rickey (Debbie) Ritchey of Otego, Nickey (Shelley) Ritchey of Otego, Vickey Gregory of Afton and Mickey (Kathy) Ritchey of Otego, 8 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, a brother Norman Ritchey of Unadilla, several nieces and nephews, his step-children, Debora Holling of Utica, Linda Spencer of Schenectady and Janet Spencer of New Jersey and 4 step-grandchildren namely Bryson who lived with him.

Harold was predeceased by his sisters Bernice Scott and Marion Fling, his brothers Joseph Lyle Ritchey and Lloyd Ritchey, and a special friend Ruth Holling.

A funeral service will be held 12:00 p.m. Friday, November 17, 2017 at the Schenevus Methodist Church, Main Street in Schenevus with the Rev. Kathy Brumbaugh, officiating. A calling hour will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the service time.

Burial will follow at the Schenevus Cemetery.
