Obituary

SUMMIT - Harry J. Stevens, 82, passed away, Friday, June 5, 2009 at his residence.

He was born February 13, 1927 in Worcester, the son of Howard and Pearl (Banks) Stevens.

Harry married Helen Delaney. She predeceased him in 1985.

He served in the United States Army in the Philippines.

Harry worked for the Town of Decatur and in area sawmills for many years.

He was a lifelong area resident who enjoyed relaxing at home in his recliner while looking out the window.

Harry is survived by a daughter, Linda Stevens of Sloansville; a son, Ricky Stevens and his wife Barbara of Altamont; 5 grandchildren, Andrienne Stevens, Melissa Stevens and her fiancée Landon Cullipher, Jason Stevens, Katrina Stevens and Ryan Stevens; 2 great grandchildren, Landon and Kala; 3 sisters, Maggie Hillman of Saratoga Springs, Mable Arnott of Ballston Spa and Susan Kenyon of Charlotteville; 2 brothers, Harold Stevens and his wife Leona of Charlotteville and Bill Stevens of South Worcester; a step-sister, Marion Jean of Esperance; 2 step-brothers, Donny Wilsey of Esperance and Paul Wilsey of South Worcester; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by 2 sons, Garry and Harry; a daughter, Darlene; 2 step-sisters, Clara Arnott and Mary Clapper and a brother Howard Stevens.

In remembrance of Harry, a gathering of family and friends will be held 1:00 p.m. Sunday, June 14, 2009 at the Pavilion in Charlotteville.
