Obituary

ONEONTA – Harry N. Wetmore, Jr. died on September 3, 2011. He was born on March 24, 1923 in Bloomville, the son of Harry N. Sr. and Edith (Azzoli) Wetmore.

He was a graduate of Oneonta High School and a veteran of World War II, serving as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Air Corps. He was stationed in the Aleutian Islands.

Harry was employed in the Maintenance Department at SUCO for 27 years and had also been employed by the D&H Railroad.

He married Margaret Woods on November 15, 1958 at St. Mary's Church. He is survived by his three children, Paul of Tampa, FL, Patricia Schultz (Benjamin) of Tampa, FL., and Christopher of Sherburne; two brothers, William (Dorothy) of Hobart and George of Davenport Center; a brother-in-law, Michael Woods of Geneseo and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was predeceased by his parents; his wife, Margaret; a brother, Donald and nephews, Gary, Donald Jr., William Jr., and Michael Wetmore.

Harry was a member of CSEA and also did painting and wall papering for many people during his years at SUCO and after his retirement.

According to his wishes there will be no memorial service.

Harry will be lovingly remembered as an incredibly kind, caring and gentle man.

In accordance with his wishes his body was donated to the Anatomical Gifts Division at Albany Medical School.
