Schenevus, NY - Hattie M. Schambers, 97, passed away, Tuesday, October 16, 2007 at the Oneonta Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.
She was born March 28, 1910 in West Hampton Beach, NY, the daughter of James and Oliva (McAvoy) Garfield.
Hattie married Kenneth I. Schambers in 1931.
She was a homemaker and a life long area resident.
Hattie is survived by 4 daughters, Harriet Nissen of Schenevus, Edna Baker of East Worcester, Betty Killenberger of Lutheranville and Jean Soucia of Charlotteville; a son, Kenneth I. Schambers Jr.; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brothers and sisters.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m., Sunday, October 21, 2007 at the E.J. Skinner Co. Funeral Chapel, 155 Main Street, Worcester with the Rev. Jane Pykus officiating. Burial will be at the East Worcester Cemetery at a later date.
There will be no calling hours.
