Hazel B. Roe, 84, passed away Thursday August 18, 2011 at the A.O. Fox Memorial Hospital in Oneonta.
She was born on October 8, 1926 in Worcester, the daughter of Jesse and Fanny (Louis) Roe.
Hazel married Avery Roe on October 26, 1944. He predeceased her in August of 2002.
She was a lifelong area resident.
Hazel is survived by 2 daughters, Wanda and Donald Keller of Schoharie and Doris Crewell of Cobleskill; 14 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; 3 sisters, Eleonor Squires of Schenectady, Joyce DeNovio of Worcester and Barbara Boyce of Schenectady and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by 2 sons, Avery Roe Jr. and Robert Roe and many brothers and sisters.
A funeral service will take place 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at the E.J. Skinner Co. Funeral Chapel, 155 Main Street in Worcester with the Rev. Keith VanDewerker, retired officiating.
Burial will follow at the Maple Grove Cemetery in Worcester.
Calling hours will be held Monday August 22, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral chapel.
Memorial contributions may be made in loving memory of Hazel to the Catskill Area Hospice and Palliative Care, 1 Birchwood Ave., Oneonta, NY 13820.
