ONEONTA – Helen Althiser, 59, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 6, 2007. She passed away at the Otsego Manor.
She was born June 29, 1948 in Oneonta, the daughter of Harry and Florence (Beagle) Couse.
Helen was cook for several restaurants along the east coast. She enjoyed cooking for her family and friends. She was very active socially and was loved by all who knew her.
Helen was a member of the First Baptist Church in Oneonta and the First United Methodist Church in Oneonta.
She is survived by her daughter, Pamela Tripp of Jacksonville, FL; three grandchildren, Austin Althiser, Tristan Tripp and Robert Collins; two sisters, Janet Palmer of Maryland and Doris Reyes of Keystone Heights, FL; a brother, David Couse of Springfield, Ohio and many beloved nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents and a sister, Sylvia Utter.
Calling hours will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, October 9, 2007 at the Lewis, Hurley & Pietrobono Funeral Home, Oneonta.
The funeral service will be 1 p.m., Wednesday, October 10, 2007 at the funeral home, with the Rev. William Lang, pastor at the First Baptist Church, officiating.
Interment will follow at the Oneonta Plains Cemetery.
