Helen Bozanic Teller's Obituary
WORCESTER - Helen Bozanic Teller, 89, passed away Wednesday, November 25, 2015, at The Focus at Otsego Rehab & Nursing in Cooperstown, NY.
Helen was born the third of twelve children to John and Marta (Durkota) Bozanic at Valier, Ill. on December 9, 1925.
On June 16, 1951 she married Winfield C. Teller who preceded her in death October 29, 1987.
Helen was a long time resident of Worcester, NY, graduating with the "class of 1943" from Worcester Central School. Both of her parents passed at an early age and Helen (along with Winfield) was appointed legal guardian to the younger siblings and insured all graduated from Worcester Central. Their home served as the transition point between high school, military and lifetime careers.
In addition to her full-time responsibility of raising three boys, her life in Worcester consisted of being a partner in many business endeavors with her husband. She was a Justice of the Peace for the Town of Worcester, long time library aide at WCS and active in both the Historical Society & Women's Club. Helen also loved to recall fond memories of working at Kass' Inn in Margaretville as well as Newberry's Oneonta.
Her children survive her: John (Kelly) of Hilton Head, SC, Jeffrey (Mary) of Worcester, NY and James of Eau Claire, WI; stepdaughter, Sarah Jane Richardson of Schenectady, NY; two grandchildren, Kerby (Jennifer) Teller of Mt. Pleasant, SC and Samantha Teller of Minneapolis, MN; siblings including: Vera Peters of Virginia, Donald (Margie) Bozanic of West Virginia, George (Gloria) Bozanic of Mississippi, Emily Lilly of Florida, Jeanette Boxill (Bernie) of North Carolina and Larry Bozanic of China and many nieces and nephews.
Five siblings preceded her death, Nick Bozanic, Jr., John Bozanic, Zita Wenzel, Mary Bozanic, and Anne Jorgensen.
There will be no calling hours.
Graveside service will be 11am on Friday, December 4, 2015 at the Oneonta Plains Cemetery, Oneida Street, Oneonta NY.
There will be a reception following at Worcester White House Inn.
