Obituary

ONEONTA - Henry L Hulbert, a lifetime resident of Oneonta, NY passed away on Saturday, March 10, 2012, just after celebrating his 84th birthday. Henry was a generous man who devoted his life to serving and supporting his family and his community.

Henry was a graduate of St. Lawrence University and of Columbia Law School. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He began his career as a law clerk for New York State Supreme Court Justice, Joseph P. Molinari, Sr. He was a Founder and Trustee of The Greenwood School in Brattleboro, VT. He was co-founder of Astrocom Electronics. He also served as assistant to the President of the State University of New York at Oneonta. Henry practiced law privately for over 50 years in the firm of Farrington, Hulbert, Molinari and Haus.

Henry was an active member of the Oneonta community, serving as a Trustee of Hartwick College, Trustee of the A.O. Fox Memorial Hospital, Chairman of the Board of Huntington Memorial Library, and a member of the Board for the Oneonta Boys and Girls Club. In addition, he was the Managing Trustee of several philanthropic foundations that benefited Oneonta and other local communities.

Henry is survived by: His wife, Maureen, of Oneonta, NY; Sons, Bill Hulbert of Laurens, NY; Thomas Hulbert of Bar Harbor, ME and Thomas Wolek of Miami, FL; Daughters, Katharine Haas of Red Hook, NY; Anne Wolek of Alexandria, VA; Sue-Anne DeBergh of Leesburg, VA and Sally Dunleavy of Leesburg, VA, as well as 16 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, sister-in-law, Mary Wilsbach Hulbert of Hilton Head, SC, and cousin Lowell Mott and his wife, Joanne Mott. He is predeceased by his brother, J Burton Hulbert.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 15 at 11:00 am at the Foreman Gallery in Anderson Hall, Hartwick College, Oneonta.
