Henry Regis of Worcester, NY died peacefully in his home Tuesday, November 2, 2010, after along battle with cancer. Henry's father, John, mother, Marcella, two brothers, Mario and Eddie, sisters-in-law, Betsy and Ruth, and nephew, Marco all predeceased him.
Henry, an artist and teacher, grew up and lived in New York City, received undergraduate and graduate degrees from New York University, and retired from Great Neck Public Schools as art chairperson of South Middle School. He studied in Paris and Rome and traveled extensively. In 1992, he moved to his weekend home in Worcester, NY, with his partner of thirty years. Many of his paintings are in private collections in the United States and Europe. His art was reviewed in Art News and The Arts magazines; also, his works have been exhibited in galleries around the globe.
A memorial service will be held at E.J. Skinner Funeral Chapel, 155 Main St., Worcester, Saturday, November 13, 2010, at 2 p.m. A reception at the home will follow until 6 p.m.
