Worcester,N.Y. – Howard George Stevens II (known to many as Ike) passed away at A.O. Fox Memorial Hospital in Oneonta from Cancer, at the age of 74, on August 12, 2008.

He was born in South Worcester, N.Y on September 18, 1933, the son Pearl Alice(Banks)and Howard George Stevens the 1st.

Howard (Ike) married Frances Mary Morell on Nov. 22, 1953 in Worcester. There they raised their six children.

Ike worked on his farm doing many things like cutting hay, cutting wood, building fences, raising cattle, fixing machinery and cars, among other things. Even when he was sick he did all these things and never complained. He was a very hard worker and loved what he did.

He was a quiet and a fair man that would do anything for anyone when asked, day or night without hesitation. He would do for others before doing for himself.

Ike's mother Pearl and father Howard had nine children together; Harold 'Pete' married Leona Banks, Mary (Stevens) Clapper (predeceased) married Osa Clapper, Harry married Helen Delaney (predeceased), Maggie 'Peggy'(Stevens) Hillman married John Hillman (predeceased), Clara Mae (Stevens) Arnott (predeceased) married John Arnott, Susie (Stevens) Kenyon married George 'Red' Kenyon (predeceased), Howard 'Ike' married Frances (Morell) Stevens, Mabel (Stevens) Arnott married Raymond Arnott (predeceased), Walter 'Bill' Stevens.

Ike's mother Pearl (predeceased) remarried Clarence Wilsey (predeceased). They had three children; Donald Wilsey married Karen, Paul Wilsey married Maureen, Marian Wilsey Chapman married Robert Chapman.

Ike and Fran's six children; Howard George Stevens III, Gerald Stevens married Sandy, Milton Stevens married Rebecca, Andrea (Stevens) Norton married Kevin, Myron Stevens married Kathleen, Donald Stevens.

Ike had 17 grandchildren; Howard and Tim Stevens, Gerald and Erin Stevens, Ilene, Matt, Ethan, and Emily Stevens, Cody Lockwood married Shawn, Kevin Norton Jr. married Becky, Andrea Burrows married Chad, Robert Norton, Ike Norton, and Hally Norton, Krista Roach married Ron, Anthony and Andrew Stevens.

He had 7 great grand children; McKenzie Stevens, Alysse Norton, Kylee and Carter Burrows, Tyler and Conor Lockwood, Serenity Roach.

Ike 'Dad' will be greatly missed because he touched our lives in so many ways. We love you Dad 'Ike.' You will never be forgotten. Your memories will live on.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, August 15, 2008 between 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at E.J. Skinner Co. Funeral Chapel in Worcester.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2008 at 3 pm, at the funeral chapel in Worcester with Rev. Judith A Thistle, pastor of the Second Baptist Church, Officiating. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery in Worcester.
