EAST WORCESTER – Howard Johns, 83, passed away December 5, 2013 at Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstown, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born June 18, 1930 in Summit, the son of Norman and Mary Jane (Boughton) Johns.
Howard married Wanda Barnes on June 30, 1951 in Schenevus. They moved to East Worcester in 1959.
He was self employed as a wholesale egg dealer, meat cutter, and cattle dealer and hauler. He was a member of and past president of the East Worcester Fish and Game Club.
Howard was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Wanda Johns; sisters Esther Banks and Norma VanBuren; son, Terry (Donna) Johns; daughters, Christine (Bob) Amos, Lori (Kurt) Schlierman and Wendy (Rick) Evans; grandchildren, Dareth Haley, Brent and Brenden Johns, Michael and Daniel Amos, Selinda Brandon, Paul Schlierman, Amber Poliseno, Chelsey, Cody and Ryland Evans; great-grandchildren, Isaiah, Iriyah and Ashten Haley, Peyten Johns, Bridget and Jake Amos, Donovan Schlierman, Brayden, Levi and Gabriel Poliseno, William Martin and Wyatt Evans.
He was predeceased by an infant son, David Johns; brother, Carl Johns and sister, Leta Radliff.
Per Howard's request, no services at this time; a family memorial service will be held in the spring or summer.
