Iona E. Fiederer, 75, of East Worcester, passed away Thursday, April 27, 2006 at the A. O. Fox Memorial Hospital in Oneonta.


She was born December 26, 1930 in Fulton, the daughter of Orcutt and Louise (Oakley) Cole.


Iona married Joseph Fiederer on December 26, 1954 in Summit and moved to the Worcester area where she has lived ever since.


She was a member of the East Worcester Fire Department Auxiliary, Worcester Woman's Bowling League, East Worcester Fish and Game Club, Worcester Historical Society and many others.


Iona is survived by her husband, Joseph Fiederer of East Worcester; 2 sons, Anthony Fiederer of Amsterdam and Eric Fiederer of Binghamton; one sister, Juanita Jackson of Richmondville; one brother, Warren J. Cole of Summit; 4 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; nieces and nephews; 2 sister-in-laws, Dorothy Cole and Jean Cole and a dear friend, Madlyn Wright.


She was predeceased by her brothers, Orcutt Jr., Sylvester, Millard and Clayton Cole and her sisters, Etta Munzo, Eula Radliff, Elizabeth Barkman and Orcetia Korner.


Calling hours will be from 2:00 p.m. to the Memorial service time at 3:00 p.m., Friday, May 19, 2006 at the E.J. Skinner Co. Funeral Chapel, 155 Main St., Worcester, with the Rev. Judith A. Thistle, chaplain at the A.O. Fox Memorial Hospital in Oneonta, officiating.


Burial will follow at the East Worcester Cemetery.
