Obituary

WORCESTER – James M. Griffin, 77, passed away Tuesday, January 6, 2009 at A.O. Fox Memorial Hospital in Oneonta.



He was born March 23, 1931 in Buffalo, the son of Michael and Helen (Quinn) Griffin.



He was a United States Air Force veteran, serving in the Korean War from 1951 to 1955, and obtained the rank of Airman First Class.



James married Pauline Abramski on June 18, 1955 in Hempstead. She predeceased him on November 4, 1992.



James was a member of the Worcester American Legion. He was employed at General Electric in Schenectady for many years.



He is survived by many nieces and nephews.



Calling hours will be held on Sunday, January 11, 2009 from 2 to 4 p.m .and 6 to 8 p.m. at the E.J. Skinner Co. Funeral Chapel in Worcester.



A Mass of Christian Burial will be Noon, Monday, January 12th at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church in Worcester, with the Rev. Edward Golding, as celebrant.



Interment with military honors will be held at the Maple Grove Cemetery, Worcester, at a later date.
