DAVENPORT - James (Jim) Weston Hanson went to be with his Lord on August 9, 2019 at home, after a battle with cancer.

Jim was born and grew up in Orange, California. He attended St. John's Lutheran Church and School, and graduated from Orange High School.

Jim attended several community colleges and received his BS from Liberty University, Lynchburg, VA.

He moved to Scottsdale and Phoenix Arizona for about ten years then to Las Vegas for thirteen years. There he met his wife, Sally and traveled to Seattle, WA, her home town for three years and then to Oneonta, NY where he retired.

Jim was an active member of St. James Episcopal Church and worked with disabled adults in a workshop setting and then helped disabled children get back and forth to school.

Jim leaves behind his wife, Sally; four children, Christina Delgadillo and Richard Hanson from Charlotte, NC, Mark Hanson from California and Melinda Miller (Deceased) from Oneonta. He has ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

His funeral will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, August 20, 2019 at St. James Episcopal Church, 305 Main St., Oneonta and will be interned there in the columbarium, with the Rev. Kenneth Hunter officiating.
