James S. Komenda Sr.

9/02/1936 - 8/25/2021

OTEGO - Jim was born September 2, 1936, the son of Walter and Mary (Stewart) Komenda.  Jim served in the United States Navy from 1955-1959. Known by so many as an avid horseman, hunter, and outdoorsman, Jim especially loved hunting with his Brittany Spaniels and special friend, Bob Angilletta. He also enjoyed sitting around the campfire, camping with his sons and grandsons, and his special visits with his nephew, Brian Komenda.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Nancy; his twin brother, William Komenda of New Hampshire; sister, Elizabeth Geib of Maine; children, Jamie and Missy Komenda, Jodi and Keith Philcox, Kerry Komenda, and Bill and Dorothy Komenda, along with ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

A loyal family man and true friend to so many, he will truly be missed.

There will be no calling hours. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
