James (Jim, Scotty) Francis Scott
MARYLAND - Jim Scott, 58, passed away with his beloved wife at his side on Tuesday, October 10, 2006, after a year long battle with carcinoid cancer.
Jim was born in Oneonta on May 2, 1948. His parents were Mary (Mahar) and Francis Scott.
He married Jill Trask on August 24, 1968.
Jim graduated from A.S. Draper Central School in 1966. He graduated from Cobleskill Ag. and Tech. in 1973. During that time, he was in the United States Air Force, stationed overseas in The Netherlands for 3 ½ years. His two oldest children were born in a Dutch hospital.
After the service, Jim finished college, then had several different occupations. His last and favorite one was his excavating business. He enjoyed being his own boss, being outdoors, and working with people.
Jim especially loved his family, friends, being with people, sports, and nature. He had always dreamed of living on Axtell Road and was able to have 10 years to enjoy the serenity of his property. He knew and liked so many people and everyone liked him. One of his greatest joys was his grandchildren. Another one was helping others. He was always there if someone needed a hand. He was an extremely generous person with a great sense of humor.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Jill; his daughter, Colleen and Dan Renzi; his sons, Ryan Scott and Sean and Melessia Scott; his grandchildren, Michael and Jillian Scott, Nathan and Ryan Renzi; his step-grandchildren, Isabella and Isaac Ramos; his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Ann and Bob Kitts, his nephew and niece, Danny and Michelle Kitts and Marianne Kitts; his faithful canine, Rex; several cousins and many close friends. He will be greatly missed.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m., Saturday, October 14, 2006 at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church in Worcester, with the Reverend Edward Golding as celebrant.
