ONEONTA – James W. "Bullets" Barton, 64, passed away Wednesday, May 4, 2011 at Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstown .



He was born March 17, 1947 in Oneonta, the son of Lewelyn "Pete" and Lois (LaClaire) Barton.



He was employed at State University College at Oneonta as in the Janitorial and Maintenance Department for 33 years.



Bullets was a lifetime member of the Oneonta Sportsman Club. He was an avid shooter and enjoying going to the club. He was a people person and loved to be around his friends and family.



He was predeceased by his parents and a granddaughter, Hayleigh Webb.



He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer and her husband, Corey Webb of Sherburne and three grandsons, Nick, Tanner and Jaden.



Calling hours will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 14, 2011 at the Lewis, Hurley & Pietrobono Funeral Home, Oneonta.



Interment will follow at the Oneonta Plains Cemetery .
