Obituary

WESTFORD – Jane A. Huntington, 88, passed away Thursday, January 1, 2015 at the Focus Rehabilitation and Nursing at Otsego.

She was born April 8, 1926 in Wilkes-Barre, PA the daughter of Robert and Helen (Honeywell) Gaylord.

Jane married Robert L. Huntington Sr. on January 1, 1946 in Oneonta. He predeceased her on May 5, 2000.

She enjoyed her job as a Kindergarten teacher at the Cooperstown Central School. She was an active member at St. Timothy's Episcopal Church in Westford, the Westford Historical Society, was town historian and quilting club. She volunteered at story hour at the library in Worcester as a reader and at the Fenimor house and Farmers museum.
Jane was an avid reader and looked forward to the book mobile; she enjoyed knitting, quilting, and most especially her grandchildren. She was also an animal lover and was most fond of her cats.

A special thank you to the staff at Focus and the 4th Floor at Bassett Hospital for their kind and compassionate care they gave to Jane.

She is survived by her children, Robert Jr. and Kelda Huntington of Westford, Mary and Caron Casteel of Oklahoma, Barbara and James Massucci of Vermont, Diane and Randel Barbera of Colorado; brother-in-law, Ted Huntington of Glens Falls; 9 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her two daughters, Amy and JoAnn; a sister, Edith Whitlock and a brother, Robert Gaylord.

Calling hours will be 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, January 8, 2015 at the Heller & Skinner Funeral Home, 155 Main St., Worcester.

The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday, January 9, 2015 at the funeral home in Worcester, with the Rev. Roy Van Dermark and the Rev. Judith Thistle, officiating.

Interment will be at the Westford Cemetery.
