Jean A. Ames, 79, passed away Wednesday, September 27, 2023 at her residence with her family by her side.

She was born on April 25, 1944 in Cooperstown, the daughter of Michael and Vera (Roseboom) Usalatz.

Jean worked at the Worcester Central School as treasurer.

She was a member of the Worcester United Methodist Church where she also played the organ and piano for 50 plus years.

Jean enjoyed music and her family dearly.

She is survived by her 2 sons, Michael Ames and his wife Meg and Bryan Ames and his wife Erin; her grandchildren, Camden, Jack, Gracie, Nathan and Tennyson; her sister, Evelyn Preston and her husband, Ray; her nephews, Justin Preston and his wife Kristin, Jon Preston and his husband Chris and Nate Preston and his wife Charity.

Jean was predeceased by her parents and her loving companion, Albro Brown.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 4, 2023 at the Worcester United Methodist Church, Main Street Worcester with the Rev. Russ Underwood and the Rev. Joyce Allen officiating.  Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the service time.

Burial will follow at the Maple Grove Cemetery in Worcester.
