WORCESTER – Jeanette Habinc, 83, passed away Wednesday, February 24, 2010 at the Otsego Manor.
She was born on July 29, 1926 in Big Rock, TN, the daughter of Norman and Mary (Leslie) White.
Jeanette married Henry "Hank" Habinc on September 23, 1949 in Hopkinsville, Kentucky.
At one time she worked for Sanyo in Oneonta, and Cobel Sportswear in Cobleskill as a seamstress. She retired from the United States Postal Service in Worcester, where she was a custodian.
Jeanette was a member of the Worcester United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women's organization. She was also a devoted member of the Worcester Hose Co. Auxiliary and a past member of the Worcester Women's Club.
Jeanette was a caring and loving Mother, wife, sister and friend. Her Church family and friends meant so much to her and all will remember her great sense of humor. She welcomed everyone into to her home and was always willing to help someone in need. Until her health declined she enjoyed planting and tending her flower beds and would never pass up a good rummage sale.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda Graves and her partner Jack Vineyard; two brothers, William and Thomas Ballard; a sister, Patsy Dalton; brothers-in-law, Donald Woodbeck and Melvin Force; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Hank on November 11, 1998; sisters-in-law, Ann Woodbeck and Alice Force; a brother-in-law, Larry Habinc and 3 nephews.
Calling hours will be 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, February 28, 2010 at the Worcester United Methodist Church. The Funeral Service will be at 4 p.m., with the Rev. Susan Wenner, pastor, officiating.
Interment will be at the Maple Grove Cemetery, Worcester, 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 19, 2010.
