Jeanne E. LaTerra
ONEONTA – Jeanne E. LaTerra, 77, died Friday, June 9, 2006 at her home after an extended illness.
She was born May 25, 1929 in the Town of Oneonta, the daughter of Adelbert and Elizabeth (Whitney) Hughes.
Jeanne married Salvatore LaTerra on April 3, 1949 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Oneonta. He predeceased her October 9, 1996.
She was employed at Astrocom Electronics in Colliersville for 23 years.
Jeanne was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, and enjoyed her garden, birds and especially her children and grandson.
She is survived by children, Louis and his wife, Susan Laterra of Sykesville, MD, Marlene LaTerra of Troy and Suzanne and her husband, Mark McManus of Ilion; a grandson, Turner McManus and his significant other, Melanie Goettel of Waldorf, MD; a brother, Albert and his wife, Cegret Hughes of Oneonta; two sisters, Betty and her husband, Harold Card of Maryland and Linda and her husband, James Louden of Bainbridge; and many, nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by her brothers, Arthur, Delbert, Charles and Robert Hughes and a sister, Phyllis Strobeck.
A private interment will take place at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Emmons.
The family will be receiving friends and family on Saturday, June 17, 2006 from 2 to 5 p.m., at the family residence.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Catskill Area Hospice & Palliative Care, 1 Birchwood Dr., Oneonta, NY 13820.
