Laurens – Joan Hane Martin passed peacefully on December 25, 2022.

Born in 1936, parents James and LeeOna Hane of Poland, NY.  Joan graduated from Poland High School in 1954 and Cortland State University in 1957.

Joan married Joe Martin in 1958, who preceded her in death in February of 2022.

She is survived by her children, Ruth, Jim, and Doug; eight grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.

Joan taught physical education and coached girls sports at Morris Central School from 1969 to retirement in 1991.  She was elected to the New York State Section 4 Sports Hall of Fame for her dedication to achieve equal access for girls in high school sports and coaching success.  Joan loved gardening, skiing, golfing, and being with friends and family.

A celebration of life for Joan and Joe will be announced at a later time in 2023.
