ONEONTA – Joan Mickle was released to spirit at A.O. Fox Memorial Hospital, surrounded by many loved ones and well wishers on August 27, 2008.
Joan was born in Richmondville to parents, Dorothy Baker of Laurens, and Everette Bailey of Oneonta, whom are previously deceased.
She is also predeceased by her aunt, Anna Woodbeck of Worcester; cousin, Gary Woodbeck and her brother, Everette Bailey Jr.
Joan has lived a majority of her life in Oneonta. She was employed at the Credit Bureau of Oneonta and A.O. Fox Memorial Hospital. Upon retirement Joan worked part-time for Otsego County.
Loved ones who survive Joan are her uncle, Don Woodbeck of Worcester; former husband, Ernest Mickle of Oneonta; sister, Linda and husband, Bruce Wheeler of Oneonta; niece, Jackie Frederick and family; niece and nephew, Kim and Jeff Wheeler; sister, Shirley and husband, Ron Shaw of Montour Falls; nephews, Bryan Mattice and family and Mike Mattice and family; Joan's children, Jason Mickle of Oneonta, Ron and wife, Jennifer Mickle of Schenevus, and Patricia and husband, Alfred Puylara of Laurens; grandchildren, AJ, Rebecca and Anjaela Puylara; as well as beloved family friend, William Davies of Oneonta.
The family expresses extreme gratitude to the remarkable care and dignity provided by the staff at A.O. Fox Memorial Hospital.
A celebration of Joan's life will be held as an Open House at 26-28 Union Street, Oneonta, on Saturday, September 6, 2008. Friends and loved ones may join the family there beginning at 1 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be given to A.O. Fox Memorial Hospital, Oneonta, in memory of Joan.
