Oneonta - JoAnn Rottingen, 76, passed suddenly away at her home on July 8, 2025.

She was born August 25, 1948 in Delhi, the daughter of Arthur and Laura (Mansheffer) Pindar.

JoAnn married her high school sweetheart Paul J. Rottingen in Jefferson, NY.

She started working as an X-Ray Technician, then continued in a busy pediatric office in Rochester.  Later she worked as a Parent-Aide for Social Services and also served as a foster parent with her late husband.

She has been a resident of Otsego and Delaware Counties for the last 40 years.

JoAnn had a passion for decorating her home and others.  Above all she cherished her children, grandchildren and immediate family.

She is survived by her sons, Kevin Rottingen of Oneonta and Chris (Kerri) Rottingen of Fuquay Varina, NC; grandchildren, Alexis, Maddy, and Erik; her siblings, Nancy Bellinger- Lindsley (Deming), Carol Schmitt, Kathleen (Marc) Niles, Bob (Michelle) Pindar, Mary (Peter) Eck, sister in-laws, Debbie (Gary) LaDue, Michael (Karen) Rottingen, Denise Rottingen; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, especially Jeff Pidgeon for his ongoing support.

She was predeceased by her parents; sister, Mary; brother, David; two special brothers-in-law, Jim Bellinger and Stephen Schmitt.

At JoAnn's request there will be no funeral or calling hours.

Interment will be at the Stamford Cemetery at a later date.

Donations may be made to a Veteran charity of one's choice.
