EAST WORCESTER – Joanne Theresa Cardosanto, 63, went to be with the Lord May 27, 2009. She passed away unexpectedly at home.
She was born May 26, 1946 in Brooklyn, the daughter of Joseph F. and Gelsomenia Carmella (Azzara) Cardosanto.
Joanne moved to East Worcester in 1989 from Long Island.
She was at one time employed as a CNA at The Meadows in Middlefield. Joanne was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Worcester, where she served as a Eucharistic minister. She was also an inspector for the voting polls.
Joanne's grandchildren were her life, and her love of children clearly showed by being called Nana by every child she met. She enjoyed horse racing.
She will be dearly missed although she's with her beloved Bob.
Joanne is survived by her children, Barbara Burton and Gene Hults of Schenevus, Eugene VanHaaren of Bethpage and Debra and Larry Eichler of East Worcester; grandchildren, Gianna, Robert, Lauren and Evan; her beloved dog, Midnight and a special friend, Nicole Schrull.
She is predeceased by "her better half" Robert Cassidy on July 27, 2008 and her parents.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, June 5, 2009 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the E.J. Skinner Funeral Chapel, Worcester.
A memorial mass will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2009 at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Worcester, with the Reverend Ronald Green, MM, as celebrant.
